The Spencer Butte Neighborhood Association (SBNA) is committed to respecting the privacy rights of SBNA members and all other visitors to our website. SBNA does not rent, sell, or share SBNA members’ personal information outside of SBNA unless required by law.

The only personal information SBNA collects and stores on the SBNA website server is the name and e-mail for those requesting access to the SBNA website members-only pages.

For those requesting access to the SBNA website Members-Only pages:

To control access to the SBNA website members-only pages, the name and e-mail of those requesting access must be stored on the SBNA server. The server is protected by multiple layers of security.

For those submitting an on-line SBNA membership application:

The personal information entered on the on-line membership application form on the SBNA website is sent by e-mail to SBNA. SBNA stores this information in a password-protected excel spreadsheet on a personal computer. The collected information is used for purposes such as sending out individual or group E-mails, hard-copy mailings, and recording dues payments.

For those making on-line dues payments or donations payments:

SBNA is in the process of setting up on-line membership dues and donation payments. The payments will be processed through a “payment gateway”. SBNA will not have access to the banking information entered to pay dues or make donations. When the funds are deposited in the SBNA bank account, SBNA will have access to the person’s name and amount paid so we can keep track of who has paid their dues.

The SBNA e-mail, sbnacontactus@gmail.com, is separate from the SBNA website. E-mails to and from this e-mail address are not collected or saved on the SBNA website server.

For those requesting to receive group e-mails from SBNA:

SBNA uses Constant Contact for sending group e-mails. SBNA enters members’ name and e-mail into the SBNA Constant Contact on-line account. According to Constant Contact’s privacy policy accessed 12/30/24, “Constant Contact strictly forbids the buying, selling, and/or renting of contacts’ information”.

For those submitting a hard copy membership application, paying dues by check, or making a donation by check:

SBNA collects the member’s name, address, phone number, payment amount, and dates of payment. It is stored in a password-protected excel spreadsheet on a personal computer. The collected information is used for purposes such as sending out individual or group E-mails, hard-copy mailings, and recording dues payments.

If an SBNA member chooses to receive SBNA group e-mails, SBNA enters the member’s name and e-mail into SBNA’s on-line Constant Contact account. According to Constant Contact’s privacy policy accessed 12/30/24, “Constant Contact strictly forbids the buying, selling, and/or renting of contacts’ information”.
